 A discreet but not invisible dose of wood does not detract from the purity of the elegant, airy and markedly spicy array of red currant, rose petal, lavender and forest floor scents. Somewhat curiously for a Ponsot wine, there is also wood on the palate of the succulent and refined middle weight flavors that flash first-rate tension and delineation on the compact and serious finish where a hint of mocha emerges. This too should amply reward extended forbearance.
